2010 Serjeantry
Trials

Greetings to all from Kara of Saint David, by the grace of the Sable Lions, Baroness of Glymm Mere.
The Order of the Serjeantry in An Tir has a long and honored history beginning in its Principality days. From its inception, the landed Baronesses were allowed to recognize those members of her populace that were a model of skill and dedication to heavy fighting, and exemplified the service, chivalric and developmental ideals of our Society, with the title of Serjeant. Since that time, the Order of the Serjeantry in Glymm Mere has added Yeoman, for skill with a bow, Gallant, for skill with a rapier, and Courtier for those skilled in the Arts and Sciences. Many of our Knights, Laurels, members of the Order of the Grey Goose Shaft and the White Scarf were once tested as candidates for Serjeant, Courtier, Yeoman or Gallant. Members of the Order are to be the knowledge source in the Glymm Mere, able to lead and assist, acting as role models, mentors, ambassadors, teachers, administrators and more. The amount of effort you put forth in preparation and study will be great, but the reward of challenging yourself to grow and learn the values of Societal life is even greater.
I will seek the advice of the Chivalry, Nobility, Peers, Serjeantry and the Populace about your qualifications. The tests will be difficult and I expect a great deal of talent, prowess and knowledge from my Members of the Order. Furthermore, only I will make the final decision as to who will become a member of my Serjeantry.
If you would seek a model on which to measure yourself, I recommend the first Serjeant of Glymm Mere, Baron Sir Richard Fitzalan.
Given by my hand this 1st day of August, A.S. XLIV

Baroness of Glymm Mere
